MDA Sectors: Education
The Michigan Drone Association is committed to supporting the next generation of drone professionals by partnering with educational institutions across the state. From K–12 STEM programs to technical schools, universities, and collegiate research labs, the education sector plays a vital role in shaping the future of the drone industry. We believe early exposure, hands-on experience, and academic integration are key to building a skilled, forward-thinking workforce.

Drones are being used as powerful tools in the classroom—to teach physics, programming, and engineering—or as part of career and technical education (CTE) programs preparing students for FAA Part 107 certification. At the collegiate level, Michigan institutions are pioneering research in autonomous flight, aerial mapping, environmental monitoring, and beyond. As this sector grows, MDA is here to ensure educators and students are connected to the latest resources, industry trends, and statewide opportunities.
