The Michigan Drone Association (MDA) was founded on a strong public safety foundation through the Michigan Public Safety Drone Association (MIPSDA), and we remain deeply committed to supporting and expanding this vital sector. MDA's annual Conference and statewide regional events bring together Michigan’s drone community for hands-on training and operational collaboration. These events are hosted in every region of the state to ensure high-quality, accessible training for all.

For the public safety sector, we have dedicated regional events. The regional event blends focused classroom instruction with immersive field-based scenarios, covering real-world public safety missions such as search and rescue, overwatch, and law enforcement support. Sessions are led by experienced public safety drone operators and designed to build confidence, consistency, and coordination across agencies. These events are exclusively for public safety professionals.

As MDA grows, we are introducing sector-specific events to support each of our stakeholder groups. Additional events for sectors like energy, education, agriculture, and industry will be phased in as engagement ramps up, ensuring every member has relevant, applicable programming that advances their mission.​
