About the event
Ground Intercept Teams (GITs): Counter-UAS Operations for Law Enforcement
Attendee requirements: Attendees must be credentialed in public safety (law enforcement, fire, emergency management, etc.). Attendee registration will be vetted.
Drones are no longer a niche threat. They are a daily operational reality, and the incidents are escalating. TFR violations at major sporting events, weaponized platforms, and UAS-enabled criminal activity are now documented cases across the country. Most agencies are not ready.
Who should attend? This course is designed for any law enforcement officer or first responder who may encounter a UAS incident in the field. Patrol officers, detectives, special event personnel, fire and EMS supervisors, and drone program operators will all benefit from a shared operational framework and a common understanding of the C-UAS mission.
This 4-hour course gives law enforcement officers a practical foundation in Ground Intercept Team operations.

UAS identification
Airspace law
TFR enforcement
Pilot interviews
Evidence collection
Use-of-force awareness
The day closes with scenario exercises and a structured debrief. Designed for mixed audiences, from first-time C-UAS officers to experienced drone program operators.
MCOLES registered for 302 funds and CEU credit.
